Recognize Octaves and Name Notes

Before the 88-key pitch-memory level, this course connects keyboard position, octave number, traditional register names, and staff notation.

Octave map on the piano

In scientific pitch notation, an octave begins on C. A piano starts below the first full C-octave at A0 and ends at C8.

C4 is middle C, the one-line c in German register naming.

A0-B0 belongs to the low pickup before C1. Every full octave then runs C to B.
